From Ghana, West Africa:

Please hear my cry. I am writing to you because I need a copy of the holy Bible with no mission but to learn and read at home and at school. Please I will read it and use it wisely.

From a church in Romania

It was a blessing to receive Words of Life Calendars in the right time last year, to make us thankful and to make plans distributing them. Firstly we distributed Words of Life Calendars to people in their homes. Sisters from our church which they care about from many families (not from our church), they spread (gave) Words of Life Calendars in visits to people's homes. Secondly we distributed Words of Life Calendars to people invited to church services on so many occasions we hold during December and January months. Thirdly we distributed Words of Life Calendars when we went into town and sang carols to people's homes on two occasions. Fourth, we distributed Words of Life Calendars to young people and children on occasions we had at church. We distributed Words of Life Calendars in the villages around, through our missions there. We received testimonies from the people: they read the Bible verse on Words of Life Calendar and they said 'I want to read more from the Bible where from these verses are'. Some officials who received calendars each past years said, 'I always expect to receive Words of Life Calendars from you; it was a great pleasure, and I know that the verses written on the pages are true and what I have to do according to God!' Many thanks, and we wait for the occasion this year to spread the gospel in this way through Words of Life Calendars. God bless you.

From a ministry to Eastern Europe

We are very thankful to God for your perseverance in supporting our churches!

The 2009 Hungarian and Romania calendars and the Hungarian Bibles were again a blessed tool in our attempt to reach sinners for Christ. Many people who received calendars in the years before were already waiting for the new calendars. There were also many people who received calendars and Bibles for the first time.

We know that although we received these calendars and Bibles free of charge, they cost a big amount of money. Keeping this in mind, we tried to distribute them responsibly to people who really wanted them. There were many of them! The elderly people appreciated very much the large print on the calendars. Many people told us that the Bible verses from their walls are encouraging them everyday.

Please pray that our Lord will bless the seed of the Word that we sowed through these means, in order to bear fruit for the glory of God and for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

from the translator of the Catalan Bible

Today, 5th of May 2009, at 13:55, while we were having lunch, we have received the long awaited parcel with the first five TBS Catalan Bibles for our family. These volumes are precious to us!

We have read Psalm 107 to express our gratitude to the Lord as the first family reading with our new Books.

As you have been supporting us with your prayers in this project, we send you this thanksgiving note the selfsame day, so that you may give thanks and rejoice with us.

from American missionaries in Poland

We have just returned from Poland. Thank you for the 500 Polish calendars. We distributed every single one of them except one which had a cut on one of the pages from when we opened the package. We distributed them in Warsaw at an open market, in Lodz on a busy street corner near a shopping area, and in Otwock a very small village about one hour from Warsaw. We praise the Lord for His graciousness in supplying these calendars, and the encouragement He gave us in the distribution.

The majority of people who took them checked carefully as the Polish people are extremely cautious about the written materials they will accept. In any case, the calendars present so beautifully and we delighted to see that even in standing there the word of God was clearly displayed for His purpose. Many many were very poor older people who were amazed to receive it freely. We had a number of people offer to give us something but of course it was our privilege to distribute them freely. They seemed to accept the word 'Trinitarian' as enough to assure themselves that we were not Jehovah Witnesses, which many people ask us when we are out on the streets with tracts distributing. We wear badges that say 'JESUS SAVES' with our names and web address on them in bold print (JEZUS ZBAWIA in Polish) to identify who we are.

We don't have any specific testimonies from people about the calendars, but rejoice to be assured that the majority will make it through the year as we observed almost 100% of the people meticulously put the calendar safely into a bag with much care to keep it in nice condition. What a distinction it is for us as Americans who have such plenty, to observe that many people so appreciate the value of having something provided. We pray that God will be pleased to reveal His dear Son our Lord Jesus Christ to them. His Word is powerful and a two edged sword.

06 Apr 2009

Last week we visited a resource centre which is used by many people in our area. The ladies running it were Christians and were very pleased to take two sets of Hebrew Scriputres for the many Jewish people who use the centre and also a large print TBS Bible and six small Testaments for the staff. Later we had a phone call and the lady said that later that day an older lady vistor had been in tears about seeing the Bible in large print and asked them if they could possibly get her a copy of her own which she would be willing to pay for! Anyway, we are going over that way again this week and are going to take her a copy of her own. Marvellous, eh! The Lord is good, thanks for your prayer support.
____

Earlier I attended a conference for former students of the College where I taught. All these students are now missionaries. The Trinitarian Bible Society sent me a large number of Bibles for that event, including twenty Arabic Bibles. I gave these Bibles to those missionaries who live in the toughest areas and as we held them, we prayed that they would be given to and accepted by leaders and that God would do His work through His Word. During our recent conference, one of the missionaries came to me and reminded me of that event. He told me that in his village, a marabout (holy man) had come to know the Lord Jesus as a direct result of reading one of those Arabic Bible. This is encouraging news and may spur you on in the wonderful task of spreading God's Word.

Letters regarding our recent bus poster campaign

I am not a member of Trinitarian Bible Society but am interested in Christianity. I am writing because I saw an ad on a bus for a free Bible from the Trinitarian Society and would like to take up this opportunity. I would enjoy reading this book. In any case, best wishes with your work.
____

Thank you for the great work of the kingdom by spreading the words of truth on our buses. May the Almighty God bless, prosper and keep you till the end in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am a care staff in one of the brain injuries rehabilitation units and some of our patients are asking for Bibles. I want to ask if it will be possible to get some free copies from you for them.
____

I commend your organisation for the nationwide evangelism. Also commend you for your effort, trying to rebuild a nation that less than 30% of them fear God. May Almighty God in his highest grant you an everlasting victory. Amen. I recently requested for a Bible when I saw your slogan on most buses that pass through London Liverpool Street. I got the Bible and I read through and found something interesting in one of those two booklets you sent with it. It says 'Search the Scripture'. I have arranged for about 10 different families coming on the 29th March 2009 to share these same words with. They all saw the atheist slogan on bus 149 in which they all marvelled and complain that how can this be allowed to happen in this country. Few weeks later, we saw another slogan that say in Psalm 53:1 'The fool hath in his heart, There is no God'. These group of people were so happy that they have found people going against the first slogan printed on bus 149. I commend your organisation for the wisdom God has given you to move the entire central London. I'm requesting on their behalf, if I could get each of them a free Bible, and if it's not possible please do mail me back. Thank you and God bless.

06 Feb 2009

Please note: The Trinitarian Bible Society, despite implications currently in the media, are in no way associated with the Russian Orthodox Church or the Christian Party, either in the bus poster campaign or any other works.

'The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.'

(Psalm 53.1)

As some of our supporters in the United Kingdom may be aware, an advertising campaign is planned by the British Humanist Society, in association with the prominent 'atheist' Professor Richard Dawkins of Oxford University, to place posters on buses in London in early 2009, with the slogan, 'There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life'. At its last meeting the General Committee of the Society agreed to spend £35,000 on a poster campaign on the buses in London to display the text, 'The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God'. On each of the posters will be the offer of free copies of the Bible from the Society.

We would value the prayerful support of all our friends that the Lord's blessing may attend the public display of His Word in this way. May the many thousands who shall see these posters not only be provoked by His Word, but also (by the Lord's mighty power and grace) be brought under true conviction of their sin and cry unto the one true and living God for mercy! Prayer is also sought for the wise and gracious handling by the Society of the responses that may be received. Churches and individuals may wish to consider how they may be more personally involved in this project, possibly by sponsoring part of the cost of this campaign. Thought will be given at a later date to the possibility of extending the campaign and displaying other portions of the Scriptures in a similar way in London and possibly elsewhere.

From Reading

Some of your materials have a wider use than you may think. A Lady in Winchester stopped and told me she was a Jehovah's Witness. I told her that I carry some materials especially for Jehovah's Witnesses. "Is it something I can take away?" she asked. I told her that it was and gave her a copy of Article 1 "The Deity of Christ", and telling her that some Jehovah's Witness Bibles translate Romans 9.5 to the effect that Jesus is God. She went off with the article and then came back 5 minutes later to ask if she could have an "Everlasting Life" (SL7) as well - which I gladly gave her, telling her it was pure Scripture.

I also use "Looking Unto Jesus" with Catholics, telling them that the texts show that we are saved through faith in Christ alone. Not one of them seems to have taken offence.

From Kenya

Greetings in the name of our wonderful Lord and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

After my pastor husband's death I came to Africa as a missionary to women and children. I am serving in the Kericho, Kenya, area teaching children in the remote schools and also in the churches on Sundays. I have a radio ministry to children and widows and I am getting good responses from those programs.

I have a tremendous need for KJ Bibles and I am wondering how I can get some Bible from you. We operate an office here in Kericho that gives free Bible lessons and we have well over 15,000 enrolled just after opening a year and a half ago.

From Yerevan, Armenia

I am delighted to tell you that we have just finished unloading the Armenian New Testaments into our warehouse in Yerevan!!

They were released by Customs yesterday without any problems and we were given permission to remove them from their premises this morning. It is unbelievable how smoothly the whole clearance process has gone at this end and we thank God for bringing the new Testaments here safely.

Let me say how grateful we are to your organisation for this very generous donation - with this number of Armenian New Testaments, we are going to be able to reach a significant proportion of homes in Armenia with God's Word. Let me also say on behalf of all at Armenian Ministries how much we appreciate all the hard work that you must have put in to bringing this matter to a very satisfactory close and please convey our most sincere thanks to all your colleagues who have been involved in this project.

May God continue to richly bless you in your endeavours for Him.

From Romania

Dear Brethren

We have received all the calendars and Bibles you have sent us for which we are thankful. We have sent them by post to more than 1000 addresses.

We have brought more than a thousand calendars to the hospitals. At the same time we have given calendars to workers by different offices (police, TV, radio, prison, finance, mayor's office, doctor's office...).

If our Lord gives you possibility to send us calendars next year too we would get Romanian and Hungarian calendars with great pleasure, also more Bibles in Romanian and Hungarian language.

May God bless you for your work you do for Him!

With best wishes for next year,

Your brother in Christ.

Giving Bibles out in England

As a brief update, I managed to place some in a type of hostel where homeless and refugees stayed; I spoke to youngsters who hung out under bridges and took drugs and occasionally was able to give a Bible (Kyle and Blair are two youngsters who were more open to the truth), and a Chinese party who knocked on my door to ask directions, so they got one. And a Polish young lady sitting on a bench listening to preaching was also pleased to receive one; as also my neighbours (who have just moved out).

But now I am surrounded by many foreign neighbours, apparently 6 households are Polish. My next door neighbour is "married" to an Iraqi Muslim but allows the daughter to attend a Church evening club. I have a burden for all of these neighbours and wondered - is it appropriate for you to send me another box so I can write to all my neighbours and give them all a Bible? I have 5 left from my last box. I would be grateful for 25 more.

A letter about our camouflage Bible from a British Army Training Centre:

Thank you very much for the generous gift of the fifty copies of the Scriptures in the King James format. It is truly an answer to prayer that I am now able to offer the troops a practically sized and covered version of the Scriptures. The notes down the middle of the pages and the meanings of the old English words will be of particular benefit.

We give an eve of battle service on the trainees' final exercise. I and the Chaplains give readings from God's word and give a message, as well as having them sing a hymn of praise.

I hope that this is an encouragement to you, as it is to me.

22 Sep 2008

From Zimbabwe

The grant of 8,500 Ndebele New Testament arrived yesterday.

Our office was phoned to collect them from a certain place in Bulawayo, so our car made four trips to collect them all.

I'd like to pass on our sincere thanks for such a big donation. It came in a time that there are no Ndebele Bibles available in the country. People use Zulu Bibles instead, which can do as the language is related, but there's nothing better than that people have their Bible in their own language.

We do pray that a blessing will be given on these so that people reading these will come to the Lord.

We are looking forward to the time that the full Bible will be available in the Ndebele language.

From Brazil

I am Pastor Ricardo in Brazil. I received six New Testaments and two Bibles in Arabic as a donation. We gave four New Testaments to four Muslims in a mosque. One of these people is my Arabic language teacher who is married to the leader of the Mosque. All the New Testaments were received with much satisfaction and happiness since they, as Muslims, also value "The Book" i.e. the Bible. Later I gave a New Testament to a Muslim shopkeeper who has a shop also located locally. She received it happily, she kissed it reverently and said that it was the best present that anyone could receive and gave me a shirt as a present to express her gratitude. Pray that this work may result in salvation.

From Nairobi, Kenya

Picked up the Bibles shipment yesterday with great joy. Came home and settled it all in my storeroom. Put a packet of ten New Testaments for Police in my car and went to hairdresser. Y asked me for another New Testament. Did I have another? Remember the story in January I wrote about her? How I gave her a New Testament at the height of the clashes and chaos in the country when one never knew what a day would bring forth and how happy she was when she got it and clasped it to herself! She told me today of her brother. He wanted her Testament, and she refused it, saying it was too precious to her and would not give it up. Then her two (African) house girls also want one. I said SURE! I have some in the car. We went and I gave her a packet of ten and she was delighted! What is she going to do with them all! I just picked them up the day before. God's timing is always on time.

31 Jul 2008

From Chad:

I received all the eighteen parcels of calendars containing in total:
Golden Thoughts: 500 English; 4,500 French; 1,000 Hausa; 50 Russian
Words of Life: 2,500 French; 2,000 Arabic; 300 English

The calendars were distributed just before the war in the capital to Abeche, Moundou, Kelo, Bongor, Lere, Fianga, N'djamena, Maroua and Kousseri in Cameroun, Maiduguri in Nigeria. With the war we had to pack and move things and as result, I lost my notes with all the details about the distribution. That is why I have not been able to write since.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to order more calendars for our people here. These calendars have helped many people to read their Bibles daily, many Muslims request for them each year. Churches have grown as result. The calendars are blessing Christians and nonChristians alike paving the way for a greater communication of the gospel.

04 Jul 2008

I am an Army Chaplain serving in Iraq. Several of my soldiers have asked me for the Authorised Version of the Bible rather than the modern translation that we have on operations.

I am told that you have a version available with a camouflage cover (soldiers like this). Is this in fact the case, and if so could I have some?

Unfortunately I have no access to funds on tour but if you can help me at all I and my soldiers would be extremely grateful. Operational tours are a time when even those who would not normally read the Scriptures do, so it's a great opportunity to get the soldiers in touch with the Bible and with God.

We, of course, are glad to be able to send the requested Bibles!

04 Jun 2008

Prisoners

'I was in prison, and ye came unto me' (Matthew 25.36)

We get numerous requests for Scriptures from prison chaplains and individual prisoners every month.

One chaplain said:

Your larger version Bibles have proved enormously popular with the prisoners! I know I always seem to be asking, but are you able to send me any more of the larger ones, please? What I am noticing is that the men bring the larger Bibles with them to the chapel services and are keen to look up the passage as it is read. One of our prisoners, V--, is actually quoting from the Psalms! If you knew him as we do you would know what good news that is. He loves his larger version Bible and reads from it every day. He is one of those with less than good reading and writing skills and the larger font seems to make it easier for them to read the Word. (06 June 2008)

Four Hundred Years

In celebration of the four hundredth anniversary of the publication of the English Authorised (King James) Version of the Bible in 2011, the Society is planning a series of commemorative lectures throughout the British Isles. Subjects will include the history of the English Bible before 1611, King James and Hampton Court, a Protestant Bible for all people, and the Authorised Version's relevance in a multicultural society. Details will be provided as they become available.

We would appreciate your prayers as we seek the Lord's guidance in this endeavour.

Hungarian Calendars

Thank you for the additional grant of 280 Hungarian Calendars.

I am most grateful for them. Amid much prayers I stamped each and every page (which means more than 3000 stamps) with the address and telephone number of our church and distributed them in three prominent places Hungarians crowd each day: The Hungarian Consulate, a Hungarian Lettings Agent and a Hungarian Bakery. They were not only well received by the person in charge but numerous have already been taken during the couple of minutes I spent at each place. I trust that the Lord will bless them to the souls of those who put on their walls in their homes and also those who are thirsty for the Word of God will find their way to our church through them.

Calendars for Romania

Dear Friends in Christ. We greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In your ministry doing around the world, we also wish you a lot of blessings from our God. He knows your efforts in mission and evangelism ministries and we are sure one day you will find how much He appreciated this work which done for His glory.

We thank you so much for your support. Our charity and missionary society received from your society 800 Romanian Words of Life Calendar and we are so delighted because we could use it in our missionary and evangelism efforts here in our country. Many people asked us about these calendars and we can use it to share our Lord Jesus Christ gospel for their salvation. Praise the Lord for this useful tool we can use in our evangelism ministry.

Bibles for distribution in Ethiopia

Thank you very much for your greatest support for my evangelical mission in providing me with your grant of 200 copies of the Holy Bible. Your grant of the Holy Bible in seven parcels is safely received on February 6 2008.

Your grant is really of great help for the spiritual growth of my 200 adult and children students. I am now distributing the Bibles for these devoted students in my parish. Each of them is getting his/her personal copy of the Bible for free. The spirits of these students are now highly motivated to study the Holy Bible and understand the divine revelation and message from Almighty. All of my students are expressing their gratefulness for you and your esteemed association.

Street evangelism in Brazil

Thank you for the literature you sent me, I am extremely grateful for it. With this literature I have reached 700 homes and also people in the street.

Something surprising always happens when I am evangelising. Once I heard a commotion in the street. It turned out that a young woman who, tired of life and jobless, had stepped out in front of a car, I was able to help her and the next time I saw her, on market day, I was able to talk to her about Jesus. She has now received the freedom that God gives us and we pray together now.

Prison ministry

Next Saturday, we have the opportunity at Prison in Mallorca to preach the Gospel of Grace in Christ our loved Lord and Saviour and will distribute the English St John's Gospel to the English - speaking inmates and the other languages too: French, Portuguese, Russian etc.

Some prisoners write letters with questions about the Word of God, and others are doing Bible correspondence courses. I have the precious opportunity and the pleasure of answering them with replies from the Holy Scriptures and of affirming them in the faith of Christ and encouraging them as the prison is a very bad place for everybody, but there also we can show the love and grace of God.

Guyana

Warmest greetings in Jesus' name. Thanks very much for the 2008 Calendars and the Bibles which you have so kindly sent. I received the 3000 calendars and the 20 Bibles safely and promptly.

You would be glad to know that I have distributed all the Calendars and Bibles prayerfully and free of charge to people who needed them the most. The Bibles were given to Indian converts and the Calendars were given to homes throughout Guyana.

The people were glad for the literature. They have started to read and study them.

I cannot thank you enough for your help in this area. May the Lord richly bless you.

India

Thanks for your grant of pocket Bible. I am a Hindu and have started reading Bible as per your reading schedule.

Thanks again for your grant of Bible.

Sri Lanka

I have been reading your "Golden Thoughts" AD 2000 daily. Presently this precious Daily Reading is all worn out. Could you please send by mail a fresh copy of this valuable document.

Ukraine

Please receive warm greetings from brothers and sisters in Christ in churches of Choodniv, L'oobar, Romaniv and Zhytomyr districts.

We are very thankful to our Lord for the gracious gift of calendars we received from you in 2006. In 2007 God blessed us far more through you. Thank you very much! We received 1500 calendars for 2008 in Russian, 3000 calendars in Ukrainian and 1000 golden thoughts in Russian safely from your organization. Together with you we really make a big evangelistic effort visiting more than 4000 families and giving them out calendars and golden thoughts. We believe these calendars and golden thoughts will be a good everyday sermon of witnessing to some and for salvation of others.

Poland

We want to thank you so very much for sending the calendars. We distributed every calendar. The calendars were so well received; often people would refuse the tracts we brought would take the calendar. They were given to people, including many families, and many very elderly people, in the area. To know that the words of God, which is so scarcely out in the public arena in Poland, will be in those homes and those words may be used of our Lord to draw individuals unto Himself, gives us great joy, and we know it also gives you the same.

News from Kenya

A widow, C--, has just arrived with a letter from the refugee Kenyans staying at the 'camp' at the police station upcountry--419 of them now. They paid her way to come back to get more Bibles. They are wild to get them!

C-- was the only one praying night after night; 'Hey, keep quiet, we don't want prayers here. Where was God when we suffered?' they cried all night. Now the other day she went back with twenty Bibles, and the demand is wild. Even the police want them. She said, 'You can't believe the change, everybody is singing, praying, believing. They say, "Now we know, God is there!"' C-- kept one for herself, but an old mama told her, 'Oh no, let me keep this one. Maybe you will not get any more, let this one be mine, please!' She does not know English, but she had a girl with her who will read/translate for her. So C-- does not have her own! The people gave her bus fare to Nairobi and back. Even police helped with the fare.

From a Chaplain to a UK prison

Thank you for sending us the latest batch of Bibles. In a prison like ours with probably one of the highest turnover of inmates in the whole of the UK, the request for Bibles is unquenchable! When they feel lonely, or scared, they turn to the ONLY One they can trust and will try and reach Him through His Word. Fresh hope is instilled in them and every Bible we give out goes out of our office with a blessing to bring someone to start a journey from a life of crime to a life in Christ.

From a school in the UK...

I am writing to thank you very much indeed for donating the Bibles to our final year leavers. The children are thrilled with their new Bibles and are very proud of them.

...and from a grateful parent

I would like to thank you for the Bible you gave to my daughter at school today. We are Christians and love the Lord and try to follow his way of living. She has a very basic child's Bible but this Bible is even better. The Bible will teach her all about God and how to stay faithful. I hope she will carry on loving God for the rest of her life.

From a missionary amongst the Jews

We have just received an additional five hundred complete Hebrew Bibles from our good friends at the Trinitarian Bible Society. An individual believer gave a very generous financial gift which covered the cost of sending these Bibles to us for Israelis and Rabbis. Please pray the LORD will guide in their faithful and fruitful distribution. The Holy Scriptures alone are sufficient to make Jewish hearts wise unto salvation through faith which is in The Risen Messiah Jesus.

From a prisoner in Florida, USA

You sent me a sample issue of your magazine, and I was not only blessed by it, but I learned a lot. Could I please be placed on your mailing list, I would love to receive your magazine. That issue you sent as a sample I shared it with many of my Christian brothers here! Your brother in Christ...

From a Mission organisation in the UK working among servicemen

Thanks for sending us the sample Bible. I was delighted with the quality of the plastic camouflaged cover. This makes it durable when carried by the soldiers and the size is important as it can be carried safely in a pocket. In the past the Bible and New Testament had been considered part of their kit but this is less so today. A lot of soldiers do keep their Bibles on leaving as most of their other kit is disposed of.

We are very grateful for your offer and would be pleased to have copies of your Bible for use in our centres. Thank you for supporting Christian witness to the military community especially at this particular time when they are facing such terrible challenges.

Distribution of the Society's Scriptures at UK Fairs:

Your colouring books have been in great demand, especially from the Gypsy children at the Horse Fair and the Steam Fair. They are still very popular among parents who come to my market stall. Giving colouring books to a gypsy grandmother for her grandchildren has resulted in a longstanding friendship.

Work among seamen, Scotland:

I am happy to say that I continue to serve the Lord as a Christian visitor on board the ships of the world that come into the docks. Having boarded more than 1000 ships [over the past 14 years] I have found that it is a floating mission field on my doorstep, enabling me to spread God's word throughout the world.

The vast majority of the seamen I encounter are very open to the Gospel and enthusiastically take what I offer them. The Trinitarian Bible Society also supplies me with much of my literature at very generous discounts.

Only three weeks ago I was on board a large ship with a crew of 26 Chinese and 6 Polish seamen. They showed much interest in the Christian Literature. I always encourage them to take extra for their mothers and fathers and other relatives and friends. If a ship is in docks on a Sunday evening, I give seamen an invitation to a Gospel meeting and hospitality afterwards at home. Young men, and some young women, from many nations, have come to our church.

As we look back over the past years, our hearts rise in praise and thanks to the Lord.

Outreach in Leicester, England.

The Lord laid on my heart as to the schools nearby, so some time ago I started to take [calendars] to them. I asked how many classrooms each school had and gave one for each classroom. They were well received and this last year at the end of the year when I was giving them out one school said that they were waiting to see if I was coming around this year. There are thirteen schools that I take them to. I trust that you may pray for this work and pass it on that others may consider doing work like this. It is good to get the Word of God into schools for the young people to see and read it. Also I take the calendars to four old people's homes nearby and they are very thankful them.

Calendar distribution in Romania.

We are thankful to the Lord and to you for the Calendars that we received this year again. We used these Calendars in many ways. We gave to people, who visited our evangelistic meetings. All the church members here in Budapest gave calendars to their relatives and their acquaintances. This year we tried to be more courageous and gave many calendars for unknown people. For example while I paid some bills at the post office, I gave calendars to the employees there. They were very surprised. Though the people in Budapest are not accustomed to receive gifts from unknown people, they were happy about this opportunity.

The calendars are good tools also to keep contacts with those people whom we meet rarely. I gave calendars to my neighbours, to the employees of a printing company where we print our tracts. I gave calendars to men with whom I play football and so on.

One of our church members, here in Budapest, works in a carwash. So, he gave many calendars to his clients. This was also a good witness from him to those persons whom he met.

Thank you for your help in sending every year these calendars, may the Lord bless you, and may the Lord use these calendars to His glory and to the salvation of many.

Letter of thanks from India:

Very warm greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This is to express heartfelt and gratitude to you for sending us a very precious gift of Greek New Testaments which were immensely required by the students of this seminary. The seminary offers the Bachelor of Theology course in the Marathi Language. Our students study both the Greek and Hebrew language. Therefore these Greek New Testaments will be greatly useful to them, to read the Word of God in original language.

Therefore we are very happy that your gift has come here at the right time. Please accept our thanks for the concern which you showed for us.

Calendars destined for Zimbabwe:

Once again thank you very much for these Golden Thoughts Calendars for 2007. Many of these I mail to suffering ones in Zimbabwe where, as you know, my dear husband who is now with the Lord and I had the joy of serving the Lord for over 50 years. With all the extreme hardships and difficulties they are going through in that country, their increased hunger for His Word made these daily Golden Thoughts from the Lord a real blessing and encouragement to them. Their expressed gratitude for these calendars warms one's heart.

Others of these Calendars are being enjoyed by saints of the Lord in their sunset years who are here in the home where I reside [in the USA] and where the Lord has given further opportunities to serve him.

Thank you for touching many lives through these Golden Thoughts Calendars and may the Lord continue to bless you in this fruitful ministry for him.

Letter received from UK Customer

Dear Trinitarian Bible Society

Your Golden thoughts have arrived this morning, beautifully packed as usual.

I don't know how much longer I will be able to send these lovely Golden Thoughts out as I will be 97 yrs this year.

Letter of Thanks from Zimbabwe

Again we write to acknowledge receipt of another years supply of Golden Thoughts Calendars in Ndebele, Xhosa and English. We pray with you that the word written in them may be blessed to those who receive them.

At first we thought there would be a problem in collecting them.... However, that was soon overcome, the lady at customs has had two children in our school so it was obvious to her what the boxes contained and that the calendars were not for sale (all the pupils in our secondary school receive an English copy to take home).

The calendars have now been distributed to the ministers in charge of congregations, and they will be given out in time for the New Year. For many households it will be their only calendar, so we hope that as they look up the dates, the words of life will be blessed to them. We have need of the Lord's blessing on the land as so many of the younger generation are dying.

Letter received from Africa:

The main reason why I am writing to you this letter is that all my Bibles has spoilt and now I do not have any Bible to go to church and a friend of my gave me this address to write to you. When I use to go to church, during preaching I do not have any Bible to concentrate on it. I have to be looking through my opponate who is sitting by me and any time the pastor give us quotations to go and read I have to go and borrow Bible and come and read.

Please I would like you to bring me a Bible so that I will be using it for Church.

We will be arranging for this person to receive a Bible, God willing.

Letter received from Ethiopia:

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ

We are very happy about your offer to provide us some copies of the Holy Bible for the use of our students. We are in acute need of getting some copies this year because many of our students do not have English translation of the Holy Bible. Since the medium of instruction of the College is English, it is essential for them to have the same. So your offer is something very interesting for us. We assure you that our students will use the Bibles to understand the divine revelation and message from Almighty.

Report received from Scotland:

Our day is indeed a day of small things. Knowledge has been increased, not of the truth, but of the way that seemeth right unto a man; many run to and fro, not to the light, but to the darkness. And strong delusion abounds at every hand - we live in perilous times.

How wonderful then, as I silently sit on the High Street offering Bibles, to experience Scripture-hungry people requesting and receiving them with eagerness. When someone asks me for a Bible I say, "On one condition: that you read it, and ask the Lord to bless it to you." So far no one has declined my terms. Some takers are the last you would expect, like 'Goths' for instance whom you would more readily associate with things dark and occultish. May they read the Scriptures and be transformed!

Over two Saturdays in under six hours total, I have personally distributed 47 Bibles only on request, that's 8 per hour. So, many thanks for providing the Bibles, but I need more - I only have three left.

These figures include 300,609 (138,577) Bibles and 5,561,150 (6,979,500) New Testaments under Royalties.

The following report was recently received into Head Office:

Moscow Conference Report

The conference was very well prepared and we had excellent speakers. The title of the three-day conference was Medicine and Gospel. Professors and doctors explained the occult background and dangers of alternative medicines. They discussed the current topics of bioethics concerning cloning, euthanasia, abortion and gene technology from a scientific side and in the light of the Gospel.

Almost all participants were missionaries and are engaged in a tough ministry to the glory of our LORD. Most of them were Christian physicians working in state hospitals, fighting a lonesome war against abortion and occult medical treatments. Some others are voluntary helpers who run Christian organizations.

The TBS book table caught a lot of attention. I got a first class place right in front of the registration desk. In the meantime a number of participants had already expressed strong interest to acquire some bibles. When I cleared the table after the conference there was one Russian and one French tract and one Hungarian bible left. They even took the Russian TBS principle copies that I left on the table.

The participants were very interested to hear about the TBS ministry and its goals. All speakers emphasized the necessity to check all things in this world in the light of the Holy Scriptures. But for the Russian people it was new that there is a devilish threat with modern bible translations. Today the Synodal bible is the only accepted bible translation and it seems that modern translations have so far only be accepted within certain groups.

All participants expressed how important this conference was for their work and spiritual awareness. The organizers asked me to come back next year and have a dedicated place in their program. At the moment they think about taking the conference to the Caucasus region. This area is full of shamanism and occult practices. Many Physicians - both Christian and Non-Christians - are very interested to hear about the subjects of the conference. At the end of the conference they handed out free bibles, so that anybody was able to read in the Word of God about the things that were said.
